Study Support

Study Support Club is an enjoyable and relaxing way to learn (and a good way to get OSL done before pupils go home!).

Study Support runs after school from 3.20 pm until 4.30 pm on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. It is open to all pupils from years 5 to 8 who wish to take advantage of a quiet, calm, working atmosphere in which to complete their OSL, further their reading or undertake any study/research they wish to do that directly links with their subjects in school. Study Support provides an opportunity to use computers (Apple Macs) and take advantage of the huge library of reading and reference books in the Information Centre. Adult support is available to advise and help guide students in successfully completing their work to the best of their ability. Basic equipment (such as pens, paper, rulers, scissors). is also available should anyone need to borrow.

The purpose of Study Support Club is to provide an informal environment where individuals are able to focus on and develop their education, without the distractions of the home environment - and particularly if an individual feels they need help. It is voluntary and so it is expected that students who attend wish to work. Independent learning is encouraged at all times, as is self-motivation and management. Key to success is ensuring that everyone can take advantage of a happy and comfortable working environment by respecting others right to learn and helping to minimise distraction for all concerned. Expectations reflect Greneway's ethos of a CRISP Mindset.
